So, that last post I made. About doing minimal art exercises a week and such? Didn't work out like I had planned. It started off strong, but life decided that it had enough of that.
Today is the first day that I really picked up my (tablet) pen and started working. I have mixed feelings. On one hand, yay, art! On the other hand, I find myself getting more and more reliant on stock, especially for the human figure. I tell myself that it is just until I can start doing it again free hand, no stock, no reference, but to be honest I'm not sure when, or if, I'll even get to that level again.

I did not realize how long it's been since I've done anything art wise. I'm quite disappointed in myself. When did I allow something that brought me balance and happiness to slip away? Why was it so easy? I find it hard to believe that something I've been so passionate about my entire life just disappeared from it for over a year.
I'm going to try setting goals for myself.
- Doodle 5 times a week, 1 hour minimum each time.
- Sketch 3 times a week, 1 hour minimum each time.
- Complete a full piece in March.
Eventually I want my goals to be more ambitious. But for now I think this will work, so I can train myself to actually make the time

Art, why do you evade me?

So, quite obviously haven't posted anything in awhile. Most of what I have done have been contest entries that when I look back at them, I cringe and ask myself "what the hell was I thinking, submitting that?"
To be honest, I have no idea what I'm doing anymore when it comes to my artwork. Something just isn't working and I can't pin point what it is, but at the same time, I want to say it's everything that's not working. Part of me wants to blame the program I'm using (openCanvas 4), but that's a pretty poor excuse. (To be fair, though, for some reason I am struggling with colouring in the works on it. It's something I need to keep experime
